What will you do as a PMC Sleep Clinic Manager:

The Sleep Clinic Manager oversees the day to day operations of all Pinehurst Medical Clinic Sleep Centers. Responsibilities may include staffing, training, scheduling, budgeting, regulatory compliance and general operations. Ensures patient care meets high quality standards. Develops and implements policies and procedures for the sleep center(s). Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

A day in the life of a PMC Sleep Clinic Manager may include:

  • Assigns technical support personnel to various functions based on skill and knowledge for all laboratories within the center.
  • Coordinates patient scheduling to ensure effective utilization of physician and technical support team's time.
  • Functions as a liaison between the clinic and the sleep centers and act as technical spokesperson to the Sleep Medicine Program.
  • Supervises all sleep center staff. Develops competencies for technical staff. Provides disciplinary action and coordination of performance improvement/management plans. Interviews and hires and supervises the orientation of new staff to the department.
  • Responsible for timekeeping. Identifies educational need of the staff, in collaboration with the COO.
  • Develops educational programs and competencies to address needs using standards from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and Accreditation Commission for Health Care.
  • Instructs the staff in all areas of polysomnography, including the acquisition systems, staging, scoring, troubleshooting, and ancillary equipment.
  • Monitors and maintains equipment operated by the center. Ensures equipment preventative maintenance schedules are maintained and that the results are recorded.
  • Oversees the supply inventory. Processes equipment and supply requisitions for approval.
  • Resolves problems related to unique patient situations, equipment and technique.
  • Performs quality assurance of reports, ensures data entered in medical files are complete and accurate.
  • Develops and maintains quality assurance (QA) and performance improvement (PI) initiatives in accordance with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Accreditation Commission for Health Care and Cleveland Clinic Sleep Disorders Center policies and procedures. Utilizes QA data to prepare QA reports for each laboratory to maintain quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Keeps abreast of all regulatory changes that affect the sleep lab services and informs medical directors, senior leadership and interpreting physicians of any changes and how it might affect the clinic.
  • Responsible for obtaining and maintaining the sleep clinic accreditation in compliance with the regularity bodies (ACHC & AASM)
  • Provides the interpreting physician(s) routine feedback on in lab study QA
  • Performs the duties of a Registered Technologist as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited sleep medicine program. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university preferred.
  • Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
  • Licensed as Polysomnographic Technologists in the State of North Carolina.
  • BLS/CPR Certified

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience in a sleep center preferred.

Shift: Day Shift (Monday through Friday) no weekends or holidays

Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
