General Information:

Job title: IT Computer Support Specialist

Schedules Available: Full-time, 80 hours per pay period; Monday - Friday ( 4x10 hr days - Alternating Mondays and Fridays Off) 6am-4:30pm

Weekend rotation: No scheduled weekends - After Hours / Weekends as if issues or needs arise.

Holiday rotation: Paid Time Off - 1 or 2 holidays scheduled On Call per year.

Position Summary:

The PC Specialist position provides technical assistance to computer users. Answers questions or resolves computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically. This role may provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, email, and operating systems.

Position Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
• Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems.
• Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
• Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
• Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
• Record information in help ticket so it can be used for problem solving in the future.
• Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
• Refer major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
• Develop training materials and procedures, or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
• Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
• Monitor Network closets for port availability. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
• Communicate with telecommunication vendors to resolve issues with service.
• Support phone software and hardware, configure phones. Voicemail set up and concerns, password resets.
• Cover Help Desk duties when staff are on vacation or ill.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Position Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in a related area, required. Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of education
• 3+ years of related work experience preferred.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

• Expert proficiency with computers is required, including Microsoft applications.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
