Role Description

Revolution Field Strategies is seeking canvassers to participate in the organization’s direct voter contact program. As a canvasser, you will travel door to door in the community to talk to voters. You will be responsible for having a certain number of conversations per day. If you’re fired up and ready to organize in your community, we urge you to apply!

The location for this position will be: North Carolina

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Must have the physical stamina to stand/walk for long periods (up to 6 hours per day) while meeting and talking to people

• Comfortable with, knowledgeable of, and enthusiastic about discussing topics related to progressive politics, advocacy, and public policy

• Flexibility to work weekdays and weekends

• Ability to memorize and recite scripts and statements prepared and provided by RFS

• Consistently meet daily and weekly conversation goals

• Understand how to use a cell-phone to track and submit data

• Excellent communication skills including active listening and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work within a team and independently based on employer requirements

• Good time management skills to fulfill goals within a specific period

• Ability to travel consistently during the contract period

• Must be willing to work at least 3 7-hour shifts per week

Preferred

• Previous experience with data entry and reporting functions

• Previous paid or volunteer canvass or fundraising experience (including door-to-door sales work, Census outreach work, etc.)

• Telemarketing or retail marketing experience

• Social service or organizing experience

• There is no formal education requirement for this position

Compensation

This is an hourly position with Revolution Field Strategies, with an hourly rate of $22.
